Fast Fact: Georgia Department of Driver Services (DDS) says Georgia drivers license/ID Card not proof of lawful status – and much more

–> “A Georgia DL/ID is not proof of lawful status in the U.S. so it is important to note that an expired LIMITED-TERM card does not mean the person is in the country illegally.”

Here (4th paragraph), from the official DDS website. And…state law allows even an expired drivers license as “proper identification” at the polls.

BTW: This (DDS) is the same credential-issuing office that told a reporter –  in writing – that

“Those non-citizens in Deferred Action Status are eligible for GA licenses and IDs per the Federal Dream Act (assuming that they meet all other GA licensing criteria).”

*Bonus fact: DDS now issues credentials to illegal aliens in Employment Authorization Code category C-18. You can see USCIS description of code ‘C-18’ here on page 12-23. Very educational.
