The name of the group is “Immigration Works” – Business end of the open borders lobby seeking fables of a “low-skilled worker shortage” to offer to Congress
Here is an email from the open borders lobby. This group is run by a woman named Tamar Jacoby
Dear friends,
Obama’s executive order has put immigration back on the table in Washington, but it hasn’t fixed the system so it works for employers.
The debate is largely negative now – a partisan fight about the president’s order – but there may be an opening to act in coming months. Many members of the 114th Congress are looking for small, constructive steps.
We need ammunition for the battle to come.
We need to convince lawmakers to provide relief for employers who rely on less-skilled immigrant workers.
ImmigrationWorks USA is compiling evidence about worker shortages across the sectors that rely on less-skilled immigrant workers: agriculture, food processing, restaurants, hotels, construction, healthcare and cleaning and maintenance, among others.
But we can’t do this without your input.
Please help us remind Congress about the broken immigration system and the consequences for business. Please tell us about your difficulties finding legal workers and what this means for your bottom line.
We’re looking for facts and figures, but also compelling anecdotes. See some examples below of the kinds of stories and statistics we’re looking for.
Please email your evidence to ecahill@immigrationworksusa.org or call (202) 480-2076. You can also fax it to (202) 595-8962.
And please don’t hesitate to be in touch if you have questions of any kind.
We can’t do this without you! Please help us make the case in Washington.
Best,
Erin
