Event Description

Atlanta,GA—A coalition of concerned individuals and organizations, brought together by the Georgia Latino Alliance for Human Rights (GLAHR), and the Labor of Love Campaign ( www.laboroflovecampaign.org ) ,will participate in a post-Labor Day Press Conference , Memorial Rally & Prayer Vigil, Thursday, Sept. 4, 2 pm, at the State Capitol (Washington St. side), for the immigrants and other victims of the recent crimes of murder and rape allegedly committed by Sheriff Deputies in Dekalb and Cobb, and for all victims of similar crimes of opportunity targeting the immigrant community in Georgia.

Adelina Nichols, of GLAHR, stated “We invite the entire community to come out and share in our expression of sympathy for the victims of these crimes, through words and prayers, to also express our thanks to the law enforcement agencies who are prosecuting the perpetrators, and to frankly discuss the environment of hate and “open season on immigrants”, especially those from Latin American countries, which we feel is being fostered in Georgia by some public officials as well as hate groups.”
