Me neither."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>News Release from Canada CNW GROUP ( read it <a href=\"http:\/\/www.newswire.ca\/en\/releases\/archive\/March2007\/30\/c8486.html\">here<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Attention News\/Assignment Editors: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Organizations make election plans to oppose Security and Prosperity Partnership <\/strong>    <\/p>\n<blockquote><p>OTTAWA, March 30 \/CNW Telbec\/ &#8211; Canadian civil society groups concerned<br \/>\nabout the Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP) between Canada, the U.S.<br \/>\nand Mexico are holding a press conference today outlining key problems with<br \/>\nthe current corporate push for so-called &#8220;deeper integration.&#8221;<br \/>\n    The Council of Canadians, the Canadian Labour Congress (CLC), the<br \/>\nParkland Institute and the Canadian Council on American-Islamic Relations<br \/>\n(CAIR-CAN) are concerned that the SPP will have harmful effects on democracy,<br \/>\njob security, natural resources and the environment, and minority rights in<br \/>\nCanada and throughout North America.<br \/>\n    In opposition to the SPP, the groups are demanding that the Canadian<br \/>\ngovernment:<\/p>\n<p>    < <\n    - Abolish the North American Competitiveness Council, the corporate\n      advisory body driving the SPP process\n    - Develop a concrete plan to protect the environment, energy and water in\n      Canada\n    - Ensure that civil liberties and rights are not compromised under the\n      pretext of the U.S.-led war on terror\n    - Make job security and higher standards of living for workers in Canada\n      a priority\n    - Submit the SPP to legislative review and meaningful consultation with\n      the public\n    >><\/p>\n<p>    The organizations say they will make the SPP an election issue.
