ATLANTA – A Georgia organization is stepping up efforts to assure illegal immigrants access to Georgia colleges and universities. The group is calling on Georgians to support the federal Dream Act legislation. <\/p>\n

Supporters say the children of undocumented workers who have the grades should be allowed to pursue higher education, but opponents argue that laws like the Dream Act would set a dangerous precedent.<\/p>\n

The Board of Regents will meet this week and at least two groups are planning protests in response to the board’s recent action regarding illegal immigrant students. HERE<\/a><\/p>\n
