{"id":196,"date":"2006-07-30T13:17:49","date_gmt":"2006-07-30T17:17:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thedustininmansociety.com\/blog\/?p=196"},"modified":"2006-07-30T18:39:16","modified_gmt":"2006-07-30T22:39:16","slug":"georgia-cities-to-host-illegal-immigrationamnesty-again-hearings-in-august-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thedustininmansociety.org\/blog\/2006\/07\/30\/georgia-cities-to-host-illegal-immigrationamnesty-again-hearings-in-august-3\/","title":{"rendered":"Georgia cities to host illegal immigration\/amnesty-again hearings in August"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Here in Georgia we have  <a href=\"http:\/\/gingrey.house.gov\/blog\/index.php\/2006\/07\/27\/immigration-hearings-hit-the-road\/#more-384\">two up-coming opportunities<\/a> to give the media, the senate and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thedustininmansociety.com\/blog\/?p=187\">the president<\/a> a very clear view on how Americans in Georgia view the amnesty-again legislation the senate has passed.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ajc.com\/metro\/content\/metro\/stories\/0728immigration.html\">Below from the AJC:<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cHouse leaders are betting that increased public pressure will help them defeat a Senate plan that includes a guest-worker program for immigrants [<em>note from D.A. &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/uscis.gov\/graphics\/shared\/aboutus\/statistics\/IMM02yrbk\/IMM2002.pdf\">&#8220;immigrants&#8221;<\/a> do not need a guest worker program nor do they require amnesty]<\/em> and path to citizenship for those already living illegally in the United States\u201d<\/p>\n<p>House leaders announced Thursday that eight committees would conduct about 20 hearings on various immigration issues in 12 states in August, including two in Georgia.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The House Education and Workforce Committee is scheduled to have a hearing Aug. 14 in Gainesville, the epicenter of the state&#8217;s chicken processing industry, a major employer of immigrants. The hearing will focus on the impact illegal immigration is having in the workplace.<\/p>\n<p>The Energy and Commerce Committee on Aug. 15 will have another hearing in Dalton, a national hub for carpet manufacturers \u2014 another source of jobs for immigrants\u2014 on how illegal immigration affects medical facilities and &#8220;individual American taxpayers.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThough more than 1,000 miles from the U.S.-Mexico border, Gainesville and Dalton have been roiled by many of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thedustininmansociety.com\/blog\/?p=190\">same issues once limited to border states<\/a>\u2026\u201d <\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I will be at both hearings with my sign that reads:<br \/>\n<strong>NO MORE AMNESTY! SECURE OUR BORDERS! ENFORCE OUR LAWS!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I hope to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thedustininmansociety.org\/thousand_words\/pics_rally_2006apr17.html\">see a lot of Americans<\/a> from around the Southeast at both events. I have plenty of signs &#8211; or you can bring your own with a similar, <strong>polite<\/strong> message.<\/p>\n<p>Who knows, maybe <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vdare.com\/king\/051229_zamarripa.htm\">Sam Zamarripa<\/a> will be there leading the illegal aliens -his bank customers- in their own protest demanding that we DON\u201dT enforce the law, secure our borders and that we DO grant another amnesty like we did in 1986. <\/p>\n<p>See you there!
