Ray II dismissed the case, brought by the Georgia Association of Latino Elected Officials and other groups, saying that the secretary of state\u2019s office and the Gwinnett elections board didn\u2019t violate the federal Voting Rights Act, as the lawsuit claimed.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"arc_ad | RP01 b-margin-bottom-d40-m20 \"><\/div>\n<p class=\"story-text b-margin-bottom-d40-m20\">\u201cNonetheless, this Court recognizes that Plaintiffs&#8217; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ajc.com\/news\/local\/gwinnett-latino-groups-threaten-more-voting-rights-litigation\/w2XjTXPhoVjAdYaxTHMA3K\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">end goal<\/a> of ensuring that Spanish-speaking Gwinnett voters receive bilingual absentee ballot applications is a reasonable and desirable outcome,\u201d Ray wrote.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"ntv1099909-376816-20609\" class=\"ntv-moap ntv1099909-376816-20609 noskim \" data-integralas-id-5214e3cf-c9c2-c064-e91c-a913e54ebc27=\"\">\n<div class=\"ntv-enter\">\n<h3 class=\"item-title ntv-title\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">He said, though, that GALEO and the other groups lacked the standing to make the case. Ray said in his order that the individuals who said they weren\u2019t sent Spanish-language ballot applications were able to get them from the county, and did vote.
