Jordan Commission reports on illegal immigration &#8211; from the 1990&#8217;s!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In 1995, the Bill Clinton-appointed chairwoman of the Commission on Immigration Reform was the late Barbara Jordan, D-Texas, the first black woman elected to Congress from the South. She testified to Congress on immigration reform nine years after the &#8220;one-time amnesty&#8221; that was to solve our illegal immigration crisis forever.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jordan was clear on what it would take to gain credibility on immigration policy: &#8220;Those who should get in, get in; those who should be kept out, are kept out; and those who should not be here will be required to leave &#8212; deportation is crucial.&#8221; <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>On the criminal employers who lure illegals into our republic, Jordan recommended mandatory electronic verification of legal employment eligibility. &#8220;Employer sanctions can work,&#8221; she said. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Fortunately for Jordan, a 1994 Presidential Medal of Freedom award winner, 21st century ethnic hustlers &#8211; and the ADL &#8211; weren&#8217;t there to attack her &#8220;extremism.&#8221; <em>Si? <\/em><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The bipartisan U.S. Commission on Immigration Reform was authorized by Section 141 of the Immigration Act of 1990 (Public Law 101-649), and expired December 31, 1997. The Commission&#8217;s mandate was to review and evaluate the implementation and impact of U.S. immigration policy and to submit its findings and recommendations to Congress.<\/p>\n<p>In particular, the Commission examined the implementation and impact of provisions of the Immigration Act of 1990 related to family reunification, employment-based immigration, and the program to ensure diversity for the sources of U.S. immigration.
