Dear Mr. King:

Thank you for taking the time to contact me regarding the Fairness for High-Skilled Immigrants Act of 2019 (S. 386 [2]). I always appreciate the opportunity to hear from my fellow Georgians.

I believe that the Fairness for High-Skilled Immigrants is a step in the right direction, because it prioritizes merit-based immigration reform. I have been committed to merit-based immigration reform [3] during my time in the Senate, because it can help alleviate worker shortages that impact a multitude of businesses.

Like you, I understand the impact that our broken immigration system can have on everyday Americans and their businesses. I have worked with Senator Mike Lee and the rest of my Senate colleagues to ensure that this common-sense legislation strengthens Georgia’s economy and our country as a whole.

Again, thank you for taking the time to contact me with your concerns. Your thoughts are important to me, and I will keep them in mind moving forward.

Kindest regards,

David Perdue
United States Senator
