RIDE saves jobs – and lives: Proposed legislation that has not yet passed

Chapter 16 of Title 40 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to the Department of Driver Services, is amended by adding a new Code section to read as follows:

“40-16-9.
On or after July 1, 2019, the department shall participate in the Records and Information from DMVs for E-Verify (RIDE [2]) initiative of the United States Department of Homeland Security. The commissioner shall promulgate rules and regulations for the department’s participation in such initiative.”
