‘Immigration enforcement director’ for Georgia?

Georgia Senator Casey Cagle has proposed the creation of an office of ‘immigration enforcement director’ for our state.

From the Atlanta Business Chronicle:

Cagle’s measure would create the new immigration enforcement director position within the state Office of Homeland Security. The director’s primary function would be to familiarize employers and state agencies with SB 529’s changes to immigration law, Cagle said; actual enforcement would be left to the state revenue and labor departments.

Great idea, we think, if the proposed legislation would actually help in seeing that the law was enforced.
