Rabid Open-Borders Huerta: ‘Too late’ to stop Mexican invasion

Like the woman herself, Dolores Huerta’s position on illegal immigration from Mexico into the United States is blunt and direct. — “We didn’t cross the border,” the revered [illegal alien] and farm worker advocate told an enthusiastic crowd of mostly college students. “The border crossed us.”

Wiles’ unlicensed driver bill sees final passage

ATLANTA – Legislation that increases penalties for those who drive without a license received final passage in the Senate today. State Sen. John Wiles (R-Kennesaw) authored Senate Bill 350 in response to a growing number of auto accidents, injuries and fatalities in Georgia caused by individuals who have never obtained a driver’s license. The bill now goes to the Governor’s desk to be signed into law.

“I am pleased to see that a majority of the General Assembly supports this effort to help save lives,” Sen. Wiles said. “We have seen too many accidents caused by unlicensed drivers in this state, including a fatal head-on collision in Marietta recently that involved an unlicensed driver. Action must be taken to curb this blatant disregard for the laws of our state.”

SB 350 will increase the penalties for those found operating a vehicle without a valid driver’s license or on a suspended or revoked license. Under the new law, an individual found driving without being licensed or driving on a suspended, disqualified or revoked license could be sentenced to at least two days imprisonment for the first offense. Any second or third offense within five years, and that individual would be subject to at least ten days imprisonment and a fine of at least $1000. A fourth or subsequent offense within five years would be treated by the courts as a felony. The new penalties would not apply to those who accidentally leave a wallet or forget a purse at home, or those driving on an expired license.

“The lives of Georgia citizens should not be put in jeopardy when we can swiftly and comprehensively correct this problem, and this legislation is a step in that direction,” added Sen. Wiles.

Today’s passage of SB 350 is the result of a two-year effort for Sen. Wiles to pass legislation that will make Georgia’s highways and roads safer.

Same old story, crime merely price of low wage illegal workers…WASHINGTON TIMES

“Somehow, though, if you are an illegal, it is considered invasive or unfriendly in some localities to check on your status. Plenty of native-born criminals would appreciate it if that sort of logic were applied to them”.

Stabbing reveals disparities in illegals laws

It is a shame that an illegal [alien] charged with stabbing a man in the sternum in Montgomery County last August, one month after he was charged with assaulting a teen there, was released on $2,500 bail until his trial. — Not surprisingly, Milton Calderon-Melendez, a member of the MS-13 street gang, did not appear at his trial because illegal [aliens] do not have to follow the law.

Georgia Senate Bill 350 on its way to Governor Perdue!

Posted by D.A. King at 3:53 pm - Email the author   Print This Post Print This Post

Dear friends of the Dustin Inman Society:

THANK YOU FOR YOUR PHONE CALLS AND E-MAILS TO GEORGIA LEGISLATORS!
OUR HARD WORK HAS PAID OFF AGAIN.

While we still have several other very important bills that are not yet ready for the Governor’s signature, I wanted to let you know that Senator John Wiles’ bill – SB 350 – aimed at drivers who have never obtained a Georgia driver’s license has passed the Senate (in February), the House last week and survived a reconsideration vote in the House yesterday.

The bill will now go to be signed by Governor Perdue and become law …if he signs it.

Please know that this is a very important victory for the majority of Americans in Georgia who support the equal application of American law – even for illegal aliens who have been driving Georgia roads with little fear of any serious punishment – and also for improved public safety. With the governor’s signature, this bill will save lives and cause even more illegal aliens to move out of Georgia.

SB 350 would require a minimum of two days in jail for the first offense of driving in Georgia but failing to have obtained a driver’s license and would create a felony for a fourth conviction within five years.

Governor Perdue vetoed a nearly identical bill last year. There will be a great deal of pressure from the open borders lobby to convince the governor to veto SB 350 again. You can click here and here to see that the opposition to this bill was very well-funded and organized.

We win!

To let the governor know that most Georgians support punishment for the crime of driving illegally please help me with a call to the governor’s office. Please call Governor Perdue at 404 656 1776 to leave short, respectful message for him saying that you worked hard to help get SB 350 passed and you trust he will sign the legislation into law. As always, use your cell phone if it a long distance call. You can e-mail the governor’s office HERE. BE advised…the illegal alien lobby will create a lot of calls to the governor asking him to veto this bill again.

Also please call Senator John Wiles office to leave a message of thanks and support. Senator Wiles phone number 404 657 0406 THIS IS AS IMPORTANT AS CALLING THE GOVERNOR!

Co-sponsors of SB 350:

(4) Murphy,Jack 27th

I will let you know the outcome of the other bills we have worked on next week, but I can tell you that all of them – INCLUDING HB 978 – look good for final passage and that there will be big news coming out the Capitol when the session is complete – which is scheduled for next Friday, April 4.

AGAIN: THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR KIND WORDS OF SUPPORT, YOUR CALLS AND E-MAILS TO LAWMAKERS AND SPECIAL THANKS TO THOSE WHO HAVE DONATED TO THE DUSTIN INMAN SOCIETY. WE ARE MAKING A DIFFERENCE ! PAT YOURSELF ON THE BACK!

( The threat of possible) Enforcement works in Maryland!

“Now I am too scared to go back and return my license plates,” said Romano, who has lived illegally in the United States for 18 years. “I left my job, my apartment, my daughters left their school. Now, here we are in Maryland, starting over again. We don’t know anyone, but it’s safer for the moment. Tomorrow, it might be a different story.”

To Illegal Immigrants, Md. Feeling Less Friendly

Washington Post

Public anger against illegal immigrants, already entrenched in parts of Northern Virginia, is seeping into Maryland. With legislators facing unprecedented demands to take action, fears of a crackdown are spreading among illegal immigrants in a state that has been more tolerant of them.

A record 20 bills targeting illegal immigrants have been introduced in the state legislature this session. Although none of the bills is expected to survive, their supporters are far more vocal and organized than in the past, and the movement has gained recent support in Maryland communities that include Mount Rainier, Gaithersburg and Taneytown.

“We have more people than we ever expected getting involved. They are mad, but until now, they didn’t know what to do about it,” said Brad Botwin, a Rockville resident who chairs the activist group Help Save Maryland. “For the first time, the delegates and senators are hearing the majority view on the impact of illegal immigrants on our state.”

More than 5100 no driver’s license citations in Gwinnett County in 2007

Posted by D.A. King at 9:02 pm - Email the author   Print This Post Print This Post

According to traffic records, the Gwinnett County Police Department issued 3,379 citations for driving without a license in 2005. That’s roughly nine citations per day.

The following year, the department dished out nearly 1,000 more citations, edging the average to 12 busts per day.

Last year, the daily average of no-license drivers bumped to 14. Officials could not easily dice the data to illustrate where in Gwinnett the busts happened.

Lawrenceville, Ga.—- Police have arrested a mother on charges she harbored a man who impregnated her 14-year-old daughter.

Authorities say the 42-year-old woman allowed Lucio Gomez-Gonzalez to stay at her home for two weeks and permitted him to have sex with her daughter.

Police charged Gomez-Gonzalez, whose age is unknown, with statutory rape on Thursday. The mother was charged Wednesday with being a party to statutory rape. According to arrest warrants, both suspects are Mexicans in the country illegally.

PJB on the smearing of American patriots

“Nativism” is another smear term, dating to the early 1850s and the Know-Nothing Party, which sought to halt immigration after millions of Irish flooded in after the famine of 1845. It carries a connotation of xenophobia, or the fear and hatred of foreigners.

Thus does Bush tar critics who deplore his dereliction of duty in failing to defend this nation’s borders against a Third World invasion that may turn this republic into a Tower of Babel.

From 1924 to 1965, there was indeed little immigration. Does that make Coolidge, Hoover, FDR, Harry Truman, Dwight Eisenhower and Kennedy knuckle-dragging nativists? When JFK took office, we were as united and strong a country as we have ever been. How did we suffer from not having 12 million to 20 million illegal aliens here?

Pat Buchanan — WorldNetDaily.com

The ‘isms’ that bedevil Bush

…In smearing as nativists, protectionists and isolationists those who wish to stop the invasion, halt the export of factories and jobs to Asia, and stop the unnecessary wars, Bush is attacking the last true conservatives in his party. — Which is understandable. For after the judges and tax cuts, what is there about Bush that is conservative? HERE
