The Obama administration announced Aug. 18 that the Department of Homeland Security would begin to dismiss pending deportation cases of thousands of illegal aliens who have been captured in the United States. Currently there are a reported 300,000 illegals in the deportation pipeline.

The new decree was announced without fanfare on the White House website in a blog posted by Cecilia Munoz, late of the National Council of La Raza (“The Race” in English) and currently serving the Obama regime as White House Director of Intergovernmental Affairs.

The defiance of laws put in place by Congress is described as covering illegal aliens who have not yet been officially convicted of other, “serious” violent crimes here. Essentially, the policy from Dear Leader says that illegal aliens who do not have criminal records would be able to remain indefinitely in the United States. And apply for work permits.

With somewhere around 25 million Americans out of work or underemployed, apparently, this represents the long-awaited Obama “Jobs Program.” As you can see, the anti-enforcement lobby was not wasting its time with the years of marching in American streets with the “Stop the raids and deportations!” demand. The guidelines for the anti-deportation order include:

* the person’s ties and contributions to the community, including family relationships;

* the person’s age, with particular consideration given to minors and the elderly;

* whether the person has a U.S. citizen or permanent resident spouse, child, or parent;

* whether the person is the primary caretaker of a person with a mental or physical disability, minor, or seriously ill relative;

* whether the person or the person’s spouse is pregnant or nursing;

Translated to reality, the list includes most illegals who have already made it past Border Patrol or overstayed their visa. Few don’t already either fit the above descriptions or won’t start the process of making sure they will do so very soon.

The last little gem about being “pregnant or nursing” changes a long-used and very accurate term. “Anchor baby” is now “anchor fetus.” The White House has now given official acceptance to the angry and defiant howl “You can’t deport me, I have an American citizen child …” and expanded it to include a child of any nationality or origin.

The sound you may have been hearing for the last eight days is the sound of celebratory champagne corks popping and squeals of delight from the illegals’ organizers – both in and out of the Obama White House. It isn’t the right to vote, but it is a start. No word yet on what real – legal – immigrants from around the world are thinking about a system that rewards people who ignore the long process of joining the American family according to those mean old immigration laws.

This is in response to the never-ending demands from the open borders lobby that Obama make good on his campaign pledge to begin amnesty proceedings in his first year in office. The liberal press and the illegal alien lobby’s blogs are filled with excitement and glee because of the literal Get-Out-Of-Jail-Free Card thrown to the illegals.

One group called Centro Sin Fronteras (No Borders Central) has posted a note of victory under the headline “Backing down the president,” writing, “Last week President Obama’s administration finally bent to the pressure from the Latino community – and the threat of the withdrawal of the Latino vote …” Here in Cobb Rich Pellegrino, who opposes immigration enforcement while wearing a t-shirt that reads “We are all undocumented” has been quoted in this newspaper as being “ecstatic” about the Obama defacto amnesty-for-votes scheme.

More than a week after Barack Hussein Obama made it clear that some immigrants are more equal than others and that there are groups of people for whom American borders and immigration laws do not apply, the natural assumption for readers would be to expect outraged reaction from Georgia’s conservative elected officials in Congress including outraged press releases, informative posts explaining Obama’s anti-enforcement move and the assurance of oversight hearing, investigations and strongly worded protests.

This long-time American just spent the last hour or so carefully checking the Websites of the entire Georgia Republican delegation – both U.S. Senators and all GOP House Representatives.

I reserve the remainder of this space for listing their press releases or remarks that I found on that topic as of noonish on Friday. …

Apprehensions by the U.S. Border Patrol: 2005–2010

HERE

Official estimates (HA!) are that Border Patrol can capture about one out of every three or four illegal crosers. When away from supervisors, line Agents will tell me that it is more like one of ten. But eventually, ALL make it to the interior if they just keep trying. You may see them marchng in Atlanta demanding citizenship with angry Jerry Gonzalez…

Obama’s Backdoor Amnesty

Obama’s Backdoor Amnesty

The Obama administration’s new immigration amnesty is a purely political calculation intended to shore up the president’s sagging support among Latino voters.

President Obama has a habit of not enforcing laws he doesn’t like.

He doesn’t like the Defense of Marriage Act so he won’t defend it in the court. He doesn’t like energy exploration so he has ignored court order after court order that would allow deep-water oil drilling. He doesn’t like the free speech protections in the Supreme Court’s decision in Citizens United v. FEC so he’s planning an executive order to undermine it.

Now we can add immigration laws to the list.

But Obama cannot come out and state baldly that he is ignoring the law of the land, a move that diminishes respect for the rule of law and shows prospective illegal immigrants that America doesn’t care if they respect the nation’s borders. He has to try to convince the American public that his refusal to enforce the law is somehow in the best interests of the nation.

That’s exactly what he’s done.

Justifying the new, thinly veiled immigration amnesty, President Obama continues to draw on the teachings of Rules for Radicals author Saul Alinsky.

Alinsky, the neo-communist father of modern community organizing whose tactics Obama taught in college, wrote that “you do what you can with what you have and clothe it with moral garments.”

According to Alinsky’s tenth rule “of the ethics of means and ends,” all great leaders lie and use moralistic propaganda in order to accomplish their goals. They invoke “‘moral principles’ to cover naked self-interest.” They must do this because “[a]ll effective actions require the passport of morality.”

It irritates President Obama that Congress has not passed his beloved Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors (DREAM) Act so he has decided to bypass the nation’s lawmaking body, ignore existing law, and simply decree it…

How the New Amnesty Process will Work: (HERE)

Under the new process, a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Department of Justice (DOJ) working group will develop specific criteria to identify low-priority removal cases that should be considered for prosecutorial discretion. These criteria will be based on “positive factors” from the Morton Memo, which include individuals present in the U.S. since childhood (like DREAM Act students), minors, the elderly, pregnant and nursing women, victims of serious crimes, veterans and members of the armed services, and individuals with serious disabilities or health problems. The working group will develop a process for reviewing cases pending before immigration and federal courts that meet these specific criteria.

Administrative Amnesty for Illegal Aliens is a Blatant Usurpation of Congress’s Constitutional Authority, Charges FAIR
August 18, 2011

(Washington, DC) The Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) responded sharply to today’s White House announcement that it will essentially halt enforcement against illegal aliens who have not been convicted of criminal offenses. Today’s move by the Obama administration amounts to an administrative amnesty and a sweeping overhaul of the nation’s immigration policy without approval by Congress, charged FAIR. The announcement was posted on the White House website.

Under the guise of setting priorities for immigration enforcement, White House Director of Intergovernmental Affairs Cecilia Munoz lays out entire classes of illegal aliens who will no longer be subject to enforcement. The plan entails dropping existing cases and taking “steps to keep low-priority cases out of the deportation pipeline in the first place,” Munoz writes.

“Today’s policy announcement clearly demonstrates the Obama administration’s defiance of both the constitutional separation of powers and the will of the American public in its relentless effort to gain amnesty for illegal aliens,” stated Dan Stein, president of FAIR. “From the outset, the administration has refused to enforce many immigration laws, essentially placing its own political agenda ahead of its constitutional responsibilities to carry out laws enacted by Congress. It has also acted aggressively to prevent state governments from implementing laws aimed at discouraging illegal immigration, including filing lawsuits against Arizona and Alabama.

“Supporters of comprehensive and targeted amnesties for illegal aliens have consistently failed to win approval by Congress or gain support from the American public,” Stein noted. “Having failed in the legislative process, the Obama administration has simply decided to usurp Congress’s constitutional authority and implement an amnesty program for millions of illegal aliens.”

The announcement seemingly comes in response to growing demands from illegal alien advocates that the administration exercise broad discretionary powers not to enforce laws against entire classes of people who are in the country illegally. “In spite of repeated statements from President Obama himself that he lacks the constitutional authority to implement an amnesty by executive fiat, the administration is now doing precisely that,” said Stein.

“This step by the White House amounts to a complete abrogation of the President’s duty to enforce the laws of the land and a huge breach of the public trust. Never, in the history of federal immigration enforcement, has an administration willfully and so egregiously usurped Congress’s and the people’s role to decide immigration issues. In essence, the administration has declared that U.S. immigration is now virtually unlimited to anyone willing to try to enter – and only those who commit violent felonies after arrival are subject to enforcement. This is not the nation’s immigration law,” concluded Stein.

When the fringe-left attacks on immigration law – fun and adventure in reporting on the anti-enforcement mob

by D.A. King

The Marietta Daily Journal
August 16, 2011 03:55 PM

It has never been clearer why mainstream Americans who study immigration refer to them as “the anti-enforcement mob.” Neither has it been more comical. Don’t miss the links to information and images at the bottom!

Earlier Tuesday, the area press was treated to the latest hissy-fit press conference from Georgia’s illegal alien lobby resulting from the fact that America has immigration laws and that some illegal aliens are actually being deported. Oh my!

The subject at hand is the ICE “Secure Communities” fingerprint sharing program which is used in a growing number of local jails around the nation, including here in Cobb County. Different and separate from the federal 287(g) law, explaining the Secure Communities program is easy: Jurisdictions involved begin to share the fingerprints taken from all incoming jail prisoners with not only the FBI, but also with DHS and federal immigration authorities – ICE.

Prints belonging to illegal aliens who were previously jailed or fingerprinted for investigation of other crimes, including driving without ever having been licensed and getting caught by Border Patrol Agents while sneaking into the USA can — and sometimes are — used to begin deportation proceedings.

More than 100,000 illegal aliens have been deported under Secure Communities since its inception in 2008. Contrary to the cries from the left, nobody has ever been deported for a traffic violation. The singular reason for deportation is violation of American immigration laws. No matter from where the illegal alien comes. Rather like the way it is done in Mexico.

Simply put, the same anti-enforcement, Socialist, open borders insurgents who were angrily marching on the Capitol earlier this year protesting Georgia’s recently implemented immigration and employment enforcement law (HB 87) with the mindless reasoning that “immigration enforcement is a federal responsibility” are again vehemently howling for an end to … federal enforcement.

To all but the most mindless village thinkers, this should serve as further evidence of the true agenda of the fringe, identity politics specialists.

These characters, including Mexican citizen and former Atlanta Mexican Consul General Teodoro Maus, have proven they are to the left of even Barack Hussein Obama.

No kidding.

The event that was staged Tuesday was aimed directly at Obama, who must at least appear to be enthusiastically enforcing immigration laws in order to preserve his chances at another amnesty should he see a (shudder) second term.

Working on the theory that a picture is worth a thousand words and to get the real sense of the desperation involved, it will help to see the flyers offered up today HERE and HERE threatening President Barack Obama and the press release containing the insurgent’s demands. Try not to laugh out loud. Like I did.

It would save time for all concerned if Teodoro Maus and Co. would shorten their press releases to the real demand: Open borders today, open borders tomorrow and open borders forever.

But it wouldn’t be as much fun to write up…

We get mail like this a lot…

D.A.

On a recent flight from Houston to Atlanta, I sat next to a Latino lady from Woodstock. She was telling me about her husband, a nationalized Mexican, who ran a painting business there. He has had to replace virtually his whole crew. She said they were “undocumented”, and were going back to Mexico. They were afraid to even drive in Georgia for fear of being caught.
